Do you think you could erase your mess-ups with a wet q-tip? My idea is get the leather saturated so it fills itself back in, or maybe making it pliable again would let you rub away the mark. The q-tip is to keep things localized, it was my best idea for it.

I do some hobby leatherworking. Get a pair of Nylon jewlery pliers so you don't damage the needle. Using pliers with serrations on them damages the needle and overtime can create a cutting edge on the needle that will ruin the leather the needle passes through. Near the end of your lace / sewing you may notice some of the holes have a jagged edge and some of the lace or thread may lay in a way you don't want because the torn edges of the hole will affect how the lace / thread settles. This gets more noticeable as you get further and further into the stitch as the needle gets more and more damaged. Nylon jewelry pliers will not damage the needle in this way and they are in my experience more "grippy" than steel on steel.

What brand of ruler do you use with the ingrained ticks and where the measurement starts at the very edge of the ruler? Additionally, does this brand also sell where it doesn't start at the end of the ruler? I ask the second question as well, since I do have a need such a ruler for different crafts I do as well.

Once you have it torn down, you could photo-copy on to acid free paper and you would have a choice book.

I feel like these videos were something I *needed* in my life. I'm trying to find a creative hobby and it's making me a little anxious that I don't have that outlet, but these videos were very soothing to watch. I enjoy your calm, extremely competent craftsmanship and just how many different disciplines and art forms you apply. Extremely satisfying to see someone take extreme care in restoring hundreds of pages and other painstaking measures you take to create something so one of a kind. I don't think I want to get into bookbinding necessarily, but I'd love to make something ordinary or commonplace into something beautiful! Thanks for the videos, I'm sure they were another labor of love to create, edit and distribute, it's definitely inspired some deep thought and direction for my own search for a new creative outlet. 😀

And then I discovered your channel and the amazing craftsmanship and artistic talent. I am kind of speechless. I NEVER put any thought into how a book is made. That alone was super interesting and satisfying to watch. But THIS book? This amazing project? Just wow! You are an artist! Amazing book, very enjoyable video series to watch it coming to life. I went to a friend's funeral today, so I'm thinking about death... anyway, when I see this, I think, "When it's this guy's time, a) he will be truly missed, and b) he's left the world a better place than he found it. 1. Where does the title go? 2. The clasp is two penguins who've popped their heads up out of the water, back-to-back, and are delighted at what they're seeing up there 😀
